August Hump Day Favs 2013

Dear Friends,
How ya' doing on this glorious HUMP DAY?!

"But Atira it's Friday" I know but I wasn't home on hump day to get this up but as they say in the theatre- THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
So let's get on with it then...
I honestly don't have a ton of Favs this month mainly because I didn't really try too many new things and didn't want to just repeat products. Here's a little story to get the ball rolling shall we ;)

Early this month my mommy was pretty sick and evidently ended up in the hospital for a week. The day before she was released my aunt and bestest best bud Ed (Hi Ed!) from New Jersey came down to visit her. Now you know how when you go to a hotel you usually would take with you home the shampoos and stuff. Well we took the hospital toiletries. I was in desperate  need of a lip balm that night but didn't feel like getting up to go to my room and get one(I have tons!) So after reading what this could be used for I tried and absolutely fell in love with the Aloe Vesta Skin Protectant. Next up in the lippy category is the first lip stick that I've ever used. I took this randomly one day from my older sister's collection since she didn't want it any more and it is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick pearl in the shade 457 Wild Orchid. This is a really pretty purpley-pink shade with some blue undertones. It's really wearable and moisturizing so I just dab a bit in the center of my lips and rub it in with my finger to wear it as a stain.

As I've been looking for the perfect everyday makeup look for me (which I will try to have in a letter soon) I've strayed away from liquid eyeliner because I feel they are too dramatic for me but I've been really liking black pencil liner in my upper water line just to make my laughed look thicker and a bit more full and I find that Jordana Quickliner in Black gets the job done.

A part of my everyday makeup routine, I've been finding ways for my mascara to not clump and just look like I liked on ten layers of it. I try to get the most natural thin coat I can and so I have concluded that using a Eyebrow and Lash Comb/Brush right before my mascara sets gets rid of all of the clumps and just gives me with the most even coat of mascara ever. Plus the brush is dense but it doesn't tug our anything.

Next I have two nail polish favorites for the month and they are both from O.P.I which if you didn't know is what I call a fancy drugstore brand. (I'm weird okay) First off which I think I shown in I believe last week's Manicure Monday is O.P.I Mermaid's Tears. It is just one of the most perfect mint shades ever(which I am always on the hunt for) and then next is O.P.I Alpine Snow which is just your basic white but I really like the formula of this one and how opaque it is.

Last for physical things would be WASHI TAPE! I've been in love with decorating my back to school supplies (haul should be up tomorrow:) ) and I just can't get over how cute and fun washi tape is. It's really inexpensive too and you can find a huge selection of really cute and funky ones from Etsy.com

Last but certainly not least would be music and boy did I have with music this month! I will try my best to stick to my limit of 5 songs but I'm not sure. Lets go through my playlist *scrolls through music list on Kindle Fire HD.* Okay, here we go....

+Blood On The Leaves by Kanye West ft. Tony Williams. (Can we just talk about his VMA performance? People have tweeted that it looked like he was chasing North West around the house, lol)

+Beware by Big Sean ft. Lil' Wayne and Jhen Aiko

+Masters of War by Ed Sheeran ( this is a cover originally sung by Bob Dylan but sweet nibblets the emotion that Ed has when he sings this is just ASDFGHJKL)

+Sail by Awolnation the ultimate get ready and good night song. I just really like it)

+What I Know by Parachute( I've you've never heard this song you are doing something wrong)

+Let Her Go by Paasanger ( I swear I need to see this performed live because it is just everything you could ever ask for in a song with a message)

And because I knew that I wouldn't be able stick to my limit I will lastly say to listen to Emblem3's album Nothing To Lose. I am OBSESSED with it, the songs are amazing, their voices are amazing. I really recommend it!

That is all for this letter. I hope I entertained you and that you enjoyed. You probably didn't but if you did comment below and let me know what your favorite things have been for the month of August. I would love to hear from you and find some new things.

I hope you are feeling mazing where ever you are.

Spread Some Good Vibes

Sincerely,
Atira :)
